Ya3 has big plans for the travel industry

Traveling is awesome.

Ask anyone if they like traveling, and you’ll get a resounding yes.

Travel lets you escape from your daily life.

You get to change things up, see new sights, discover new and exciting places, meet wonderful new people. Oh and the food. Don’t get me started.

But there’s a dark side.

Behind every holiday picture uploaded to Facebook lies hours and hours of planning.

  • Organizing.
  • Prioritizing.
  • Thinking.
  • Booking.
  • Coordinating.

I don’t know about you, but that’s not fun for me. I don’t want to be combing the internet for information, or getting stressed out over a last-minute change.

I want travel to be simple.

Travel should be simple.

And that’s why we’re here today.

There’s a ton of startups in the travel industry. I know, I’ve used plenty, and so have the other two co-founders.

But we still saw a gap.

We’d heard one-too-many horror stories from weary travelers, and experienced far-too-many “unexpected surprises.” You know the ones. Have you ever had anything go wrong when you’re on holidays? It’s the opposite of fun. That’s an unexpected surprise.

So our three co-founders sat down, and figured out a solution.

We’d build an app for travel.

Not only that, we’d build THE app for travel, and tackle the three biggest challenges (as we see it):

  1. Information access. We’ve created a single source of information, focusing on airports and airlines to help travelers navigate one of the most stressful parts of their trip.
  2. Personalization. We’ll learn about you, and send you the information you need, at the right time, to help you cope with the overload of information that comes with traveling.
  3. Real-time updates. We’ll proactively notify you if any news or changes in regulations come up that may affect your trip. Oh, and we’ve also got tips from other users who have made the same trip recently and want to share their insider intel.

We’ve built these into an app we call Ya3. You pronounce it as Yātri.

Yātri has a meaning in many languages across the Indian subcontinent.

It means the “Traveler.”

A fitting name for an app we believe is going to change the way people travel. Whether you’re a business traveler heading to a meeting, a family going on holidays, or a backpacker seeking to explore the world, Ya3 will help you better manage your travels.

Because no one likes an unexpected surprise. Especially when you’re traveling.
